Concert Band Members Make The Cut - Updated 02/24/08

Saturday, January 12th, was a great day for the Highlands band!!  Congratulations to all of the students that were selected to these elite ensembles. (Special thanks to Tammy Thomas and Mark Reibling for helping out that day as volunteers!)

The number next to each student gives their ranking in that ensemble for their instrument.

Wind Ensemble (This is made up of the top 50 students that auditioned that day.)

Congratulations to Emm Mitchell for being selected for All State Concert Band.


Congratulations to band members Emma Mitchell, Sadie Teegarden, and Matt Keeler.  

Emma Mitchell and Sadie Teegarden have been selected to perform with the Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble and Matt Keeler has been selected to perform with the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra.

These students will be performing throughout the year in the greater Cincinnati area with these ensembles.

2006-2007 Highlands Concert Band

Concert Band Is Going To State!

The Highlands High School Concert Band received a Distinguished rating and also high enough scores to qualify for the State competition held May 7-8th. The HHS Concert Band was one of six Northern Kentucky Concert bands that qualified for the state concert band festival assessment.

CONGRATULATIONS!  

There were over 900 students that auditioned for the Northern Kentucky Select Band and 11 students from Highlands were selected.

Congratulations to Christian Mock, Brandon Killen, Emma Mitchell, Kaitlyn Lemmons, Sadie Teegarden, Amy Schultz, Ryan Thomas, Anna Murphy, David Jump, Morgan Jones, and Matt Keeler.

2005-2006 Highlands Concert Band

CONGRATULATIONS!  

Congratulations to the members of the 7th and 8th grade band. The middle school band performed in the Northern Kentucky concert band festival at Northern Kentucky University where they received a distinguished rating for their performance.

Congratulations to the following m.s. and h.s. band members. These members received a distinguished rating at the Northern Kentucky solo and ensemble festival that was held on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.

CONGRATULATIONS!  

There are 21 students from the Highlands Middle School Band that have been selected to perform in the Eastern Kentucky University Honors Band on Saturday, November 19 at 6:30 p.m. Students will leave after school on Friday, November 18 and return on Saturday after their concert.  More information will follow.

The students selected are Allen D., Sadie Teegarden, Amy Schultz, Taylor Gross, Jenny Daniels, Max Payne, Dana Youtsey, Kaitlyn Lemmons, Emma Mitchell, Katie Pratt, Anna Murphy, Jessica Johnson, Ryan Thomas, Chris Wood, Andrew Mershon., Daniel Fennell, Caleb Moore, Skyler Hewins, David Jones, Morgan Jones, and Scott the Beast Behler.

All-State Band

Matt Keeler, Wes Sparkes, Joey Drury, Jen Adams, Lucas Hausrath and John Kleemeier made it to the final audition round for All-State Band.  

According to Mrs. Hopkins it is very hard for students to make it to the final round and that these students represented Highlands very well.
