Highlands High School in Fort
Thomas, Kentucky is home for the Highlands High School Marching
Band, a voluntary extracurricular part of the regular band program
at Highlands High School. Selected individuals in Highlands Middle
School Concert Band are invited to audition for the Marching Band.
Fort Thomas is a Northern Kentucky community which lies on a bluff
overlooking the Ohio River and Cincinnati, Ohio. Approximately 800
students attend Highlands High School. This year's Marching Band
has 20 auxiliary members and 45 musicians and 1 field commander.
The band programs at Highlands High School and Highlands Middle
School strive for excellence in jazz, concert, and marching offering
a large number of musical experiences for its students.
Under the direction of Lori Hopkins the Marching Band has competed
at the state level in four of the last six years and the Concert Band competed at the state level in the spring of 2007. The Jazz Band has participated in the University of Louisville Jazz Festival the last three years.
The Highlands High School and Highlands Middle School Bands would like to extend their sincere
appreciation to their supporters and outstanding boosters organization,
without which many activities would not be possible.
